Southampton Cruise Port

Cruise Transfers Southampton

Stress-free transfers to and from all five Southampton cruise terminals. I know the port inside out.

20+ years cruise-port experience Cabin-to-curb meet & greet Wheelchair accessible vehicle

Being a cruiser myself and a local to Southampton, I understand the importance of a stress-free journey to your cruise terminal. Southampton is a city where something is always going on: football matches at St Mary’s Stadium, boat shows, festivals, or multiple cruise ships in port on the same day. I use my knowledge of the local area to avoid anything that could impact your journey.

I’m happy to pick up and drop off customers from all over Hampshire and neighbouring counties. Whether you’re departing for a world cruise or returning home after a Mediterranean voyage, I’ll get you there and back comfortably.

What you get when you book me

  • Door-to-door pickup from any postcode in Hampshire or neighbouring counties: your address to the cruise terminal, no transfers, no shared minibuses
  • Terminal-specific drop-off. I’ll know which dock gate your ship sails from before pickup, so you go to the right gate first time
  • Same on the return. I’ll meet you at the correct dock gate the morning you disembark, no wandering with luggage
  • Capacity for 4 passengers with full cruise luggage, or 3 passengers plus a wheelchair user
  • Wheelchair-accessible 2025 Volkswagen Caddy Maxi as standard, with no surcharge for accessibility
  • Real-time port monitoring, so if your ship is delayed I’ll already know before you ring me
  • Fixed price quoted in writing before you commit. No surge pricing, no surprises on the day

Cruise Terminals Covered

Southampton operates five cruise terminals across the docks. I check which terminal your ship is using before pickup, so you arrive at the right gate first time.

  • Ocean Terminal (Dock Gate 10)
  • City Cruise Terminal (Dock Gate 4)
  • Mayflower Cruise Terminal (Dock Gate 9)
  • QEII Terminal (Dock Gate 8/10)
  • Horizon Cruise Terminal

Got a day at port? Plan a tour

Plenty of passengers don’t realise they can leave the ship for the day during a Southampton stopover. If your cruise is calling at Southampton for 6, 8, or 12 hours, that’s plenty of time for a proper day out. Stonehenge, Bath, the New Forest, Highclere Castle (the real-life Downton Abbey), Winchester, even London. I run private taxi tours tailored to your specific cruise window, so you’re back at the gangway before all-aboard with a comfortable buffer.

The tricky part is matching the right destination to the time you actually have. My Cruise Tour Planner asks two questions (what time you dock and what time you sail) and recommends destinations that fit, with the cruise-safe buffer already built in. It rules out anywhere that wouldn’t get you back in time, so you can pick from what’s actually feasible rather than guessing.

Plan your cruise day

Calling at Southampton for the day rather than starting or ending a cruise here? The most-requested day ashore is the taxi from Southampton to Stonehenge: about 1 hour 15 minutes from the terminal, comfortable inside a 4 to 5 hour window, and run in the same wheelchair-accessible vehicle as every transfer.

Common Questions

  • Four to six weeks in advance is comfortable — that locks in the date and gives me time to confirm your terminal and dock gate. For peak cruise periods (summer school holidays, Christmas markets sailings, and the world-cruise departure season in January) bookings fill up further out, so earlier is safer. Last-minute bookings inside 24–48 hours are still fine if I have availability — WhatsApp is the fastest way to check, and I usually reply within an hour.

  • I monitor real-time port information for every cruise booking, so if your ship is running late I'll already know before you ring me. The pickup time adjusts to match the new arrival; no extra charge for waiting, no need to keep me updated yourself. Delays of an hour or two are routine and built into how I plan the day. For more significant delays (3+ hours) I'll WhatsApp you to confirm the new pickup so there's no confusion at the terminal.

  • A cruise transfer is the journey from your home to the port, or back — point-to-point with luggage. A cruise tour is when your ship is calling at Southampton for the day and you want to leave the port to see something: Stonehenge, Bath, the New Forest, Highclere Castle, or wherever fits your time in port. Different services, different planning. If you need both — a transfer at the start of the cruise and a tour during a stopover later — I can quote both together.

  • Yes. The 2025 Volkswagen Caddy Maxi has a generous boot designed for exactly this kind of work — 4 passengers with full cruise luggage (typically 1 large case and 1 cabin bag per person) or 3 passengers alongside a wheelchair user with their luggage. World-cruise passengers travelling with extended luggage are welcome; I just need to know in advance so we can plan around it. If your group is larger than 4 with luggage, I can arrange a second vehicle.

  • Full refund or rebook to a new date if I'm given seven or more days' notice — cruise lines sometimes change ports or sailing dates and I don't want passengers penalised for things outside their control. For shorter notice, I do my best to rebook rather than charge; cancellations inside 24 hours of pickup are the only situation where a partial fee may apply, and I'll explain that up front when you book. WhatsApp me as soon as you hear from the cruise line and we'll sort it.

  • Yes — more common than people think. Friends and family booking adjacent cabins on the same cruise often want to travel together to and from the port. I can take up to 4 passengers in one vehicle; if your group is larger I coordinate a second vehicle (driven by a trusted local partner I've worked with for years) to follow the same itinerary at the same prices. Multi-cabin bookings get one quote covering everyone, one point of contact and one set of pickup arrangements rather than each cabin booking separately.
